Waking up to Wisdom with the Heart of Compassion

Fall 2026 - Spring 2027

Wisdom is all around us, from the song on the radio to the trees in the forest. We know it when we encounter it, something shimmers and awakens in our being, from the simple resonance of a robin call to the embodied truth of impermanence that comes with loss. We often miss it, lose contact with it as we find ourselves swimming in the seas of our reactivity and habitual patterns. When faced with true pain and suffering in our lives and in the world around us, we may “lose heart". And yet there’s another choice, we can connect to our bodhicitta, our essential heart of compassion, a heart that is broken open.

Join me for a year of practice and study, creative exploration, and the daring practice of listening and speaking from the heart in a supportive group environment to soften our hearts and wake up to the wisdom all around us.

This Loving Kindness Therapy Group will be offered in three trimesters over the 2026-2027 academic year. Participation in the full year is strongly encouraged. If space allows, participation in a single trimester is also welcome. In this group we will meditate, practice listening and speaking from the heart, bear witness, read, journal, create and play. Each trimester will consist of eight weekly virtual groups followed by a full day in-person retreat in Owings Mills, MD.

Fall session: 

Mondays, September 28th - November 16th from 6 - 8pm: Eight week virtual session

Saturday, November 21st from 9am - 5pm: In-person retreat

Winter session:

Mondays, January 4th - February 22nd from 6 - 8pm: Eight week virtual session

Saturday, February 27th from 9am-5pm: In-person retreat

Spring session:

Mondays, March 29th - May 17th from 6 - 8pm: Eight week virtual session

Saturday, May 22nd from 9am - 5pm: In-person retreat

The total cost for the year is $1,650 ($550 per trimester).

The cost for attending a single session only is $700.

Payment is required to reserve your spot. If registering for the full year, payment can be made in full upon registration or in two installments of $825, the first upon registration and the second on February 1st, 2027. If registering for a single trimester, the full fee of $700 must be paid at the time of registration. Contact me if you need to make other arrangements.

Receipts will be provided after each group meeting that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. I am considered an out of network provider, so you may want to check with your insurance to verify benefits.
